Earn Money “catching” Parcels in Chorlton with new service..

CatcherNet has launched in Chorlton and is looking to fill 3 part time paid roles as a Catcher.

You’d receive parcels for people who live nearby and are out at work all day. Of course, you need to be at home most of the day, to catch the parcels for subscribers of CatcherNet! Once you’ve got the parcels, you’d contact them and arrange pick up or drop off. Kris Nayak, who founded CatcherNet lives locally, in Chorlton. “We founded CatcherNet, as we, and many of our friends, got frustrated tracking down parcels that came when we were out and the queuing that inevitably happened. Of course we’d be turning up at the same time as everyone else who was out! No one wants to queue, in winter, let alone now when its glorious. It was worse when we had to return something, as local drop off points aren’t always that local. We wondered if we could match people who work at home, or are caring for families, or maybe just have some time on their hands, with people who are out at work all day. The people at home, catch the parcel for those who subscribe and then drop them off. They can also help with pre paid returns. We did a trial in flats in Manchester city centre and it was a great success, so we thought we’d bring it to Chorlton, for our friends and neighbours. We’ve recruited 2 catchers in Chorlton, but we need more. Anyone who is interested can find out more and sign up on www.CatcherNet.com, or contact us through the website. Ed Irving, the “Chief Catcher”, also lives in Chorlton. “It’s important to us that this is a community service. Of course Catchers need to be fairly rewarded for what they do, as well as knowing they are saving time, reducing miles and emissions – most people don’t know that as many as 10% of parcels can fail to be delivered and return back to the depot. But we want to go further and to ensure that a percentage of our revenue is used to support the community here in Chorlton, as locals we’ve got some ideas of deserving causes, but we are always interested in knowing about any great causes you think we should support.”]]>
