Good luck Oscar!

JP & Brimelow are proud to have supported Oscar and his family in raising funds for a life-changing operation.

Six-year-old Oscar from Whalley Range, Manchester, has cerebral palsy which mainly affects his mobility. From the age of around 12 months, the muscles in his legs started to tighten, and sadly this has worsened ever since, leaving him unable to learn to walk.

An operation called Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR) has been developed to relieve tightness on the legs and is available at seven hospitals in the UK, including Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool.

After selling Dawn and Simon’s house in 2017, Eddie stayed in touch with the family. He learned of the family’s wishes to fundraise for the vital operation unavailable on the NHS.

In December 2020, Oscar’s £65,000 fundraising target was achieved, and the family have since booked the operation.

Everyone at JP & Brimelow wishes Oscar and his family all the best and are delighted to have contributed to such an important cause in their local community.
