JP & Brimelow and St Ann’s Hospice..

A house valuation led to the start of a relationship between estate agents JP & Brimelow and St Ann’s Hospice which is today stronger than ever.

The timing of that routine inquiry by a member of hospice staff about a personal property sale six years ago was ideal.

JP & Brimelow were on the lookout for a local charity to support and St Ann’s were most grateful for their kind offer of help. The property transaction also went through, making it a great deal all round.

The company have been actively raising funds for St Ann’s ever since, using their high profile as one of the leading businesses in a thriving part of south Manchester to promote the charity when possible.

Owner Eddie Ellis said: “It was the perfect match at just the right time. Our business fits in well with St Ann’s which is an amazing charity and needs to raise an eye-watering £16,000 a day to care for patients with life-limiting illnesses.

“St Ann’s needs the help of local businesses and hopefully our involvement will persuade other companies to follow suit. We also help other charities as well when appropriate and support community sports clubs and events.”

Eddie ran the Wilmslow half marathon in March raising £3,500, a total boosted by donations of £50 from each property sale completed over a three-month period at the Chorlton & Didsbury office where he is based.

JP & Brimelow also has offices in the centre of Withington. Each sells eco shopping bags bearing the local post code and has a St Ann’s collection box.

The generous donations made by clients and visitors show they are fully behind the fundraising campaign, while the estate agent’s sponsorship of the Manchester Midnight Walk, Colour Run and the annual golf day has encouraged other corporate supporters to get involved.

JP & Brimelow readily promotes St Ann’s events via social media and on their website.

Eddie added: Really brought home to us all the special care that St Ann’s Hospice provides and made us realise it’s not just another charity. One day we might all need the help of the hospice.”
