Annual house price inflation in the UK is now at its lowest rate
since July 2013, according to Britain's largest mortgage lender,
the Halifax.
It fell to 5.2% in the year to the end of October, down from
5.8% in the previous month.
House price inflation has nearly halved since hitting a peak of
10% in March this year, the Halifax said.
However, it said price rises remain "robust". The average price
of a house or flat is now £217,411.

St Ann's Hospice |
Thank you so much for everyone that came along last night to The
Accumulator Awards ceremony. It was great to hear how you all got
on and reveal this year’s winners!
Together, you raised an incredible £27,600! We can’t thank you
enough for all the time and effort you put into planning all our
events and activities over the month. To put that into context the
money you raised
• could pay for 55 days of care for in-patients who are receiving
care from our doctors and nurses on the wards at our hospices.
• could pay for 92 patients to visit our day therapy services where
they receive medical care as well as taking part in lots of
activities such as art therapy, complementary therapy and
physiotherapy.
• could pay for 138 visits for patients from our St Ann’s Hospice
Community Team who go out to provide care in peoples own homes.
• could pay for 552 patients to receive an hour of treatment from
our lymphedema, physiotherapy or occupational therapy teams,
helping people to maintain their quality of life.
Or as Rachel Macmillan, our Director of Clinical Services mentioned
last night, it’s enough to fund at least one of our specialist
caring nurses who look after our patients and ensure that every day
makes a difference.
