Chorlton Skatepark..

Chorlton Skatepark We are a group of volunteers, working alongside MCR Active and Friends of Chorlton Park, to get the skatepark on Chorlton Park redeveloped.

Background on the project
We know there is huge demand in the area to get the existing park, which is poorly designed and built, replaced with a modern concrete park that is attractive for both skaters and people using the park. The skatepark at Alexandra Park in Edgley (Stockport) is a pretty good example of what we’re trying to build.

Background on funding
We have plans to secure significant funds to redevelop the skatepark, with a relatively small contribution coming from a Crowdfunder campaign. The financial contribution from a Crowdfunder is not the main reason to do it – what’s more important is how it demonstrates community support, both from individuals and local businesses.

Crowdfunder ‘Rewards’
As part of the Crowdfunder, we’re asking local businesses if they can donate a few rewards or prizes to incentivise people to donate (a coffee, a meal, a t-shirt, a bike service, a skateboard). We’re hoping to get match funding on the Crowdfunder from Sport England, and they need to see a range of rewards from a range of businesses (including some that are low and high value, e.g. from £5 to £100). We’re hoping you can offer a few rewards to help us secure this match funding.
