Meet our local Parkrun here in Stretford..

Parkrun was started back in 2004 in Bushy Park, welcoming runners to take part in a free timed 5km event every Saturday at 9:00am.

There are over 1,300 UK events today.

Stretford parkrun started in 2015 and is one of only 2 Parkruns that starts and finishes on a running track.

Our course loops twice round Longford Park which borders Chorlton and Stretford. We welcome participants to run, jog and walk the course – it’s not about time, it’s about being active, and being part of your local community.

And even if you don’t run, you can join in our Saturday fun.

  • We need over 20 volunteers to put the event on each week including Marshalls and timekeepers.
  • We welcome lots of volunteers who don’t even run – they just love being a part of parkrun on a Saturday morning.

Our friends Coffeevan Manchester join us at 8:30am for your coffee and Caffeine & Co cafe open in the park if you fancy breakfast afterwards.

We welcome dogs on short leads, and we can accommodate running buggies as our course is all on tarmac paths. How do you join?
