DIY SOS (BBC1) – Help us find families in need!
Hi Eddie,
I hope your week is going well?
My name is Beren, and I work on the BBC One renovation series DIY SOS, made by South Shore Productions. We’re currently casting for a brand-new series and are looking for deserving homeowners in the area who desperately need our help to transform their home and lives. I wondered if you could help us spread the word?
There is a selection process, so we’re asking for anyone interested to contact us directly via our website https://www.bbc.co.uk/showsandtours/take-part/diy-sos . There is no commitment at this early stage and applying to take part in no way commits anyone to the production. We take our duty of care to our contributors very seriously and there will be many talks with the team here before suitable families would be asked to commit. Applying is simply an expression of interest in the project and a start of a conversation.
Now you know about the show, I wondered if there was any way you could help us raise awareness that we’re in search of families to help?
That could be through social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook, in e-bulletins, or even by word of mouth with colleagues and clients…
- A copy of our flyer is attached for sharing in one of the ways mentioned.
- And here is some accompanying text:
DIY SOS is back! Nick and his trusted team of Purple Shirts, along with an army of volunteers, are looking for deserving families, or individuals, who need their help. #diysos

Every share makes a huge difference in helping us reach families who desperately need our support. I’d be so grateful if you could help spread the word! If you have any questions at all, or would like more information, please let me know!
Thank you so much in advance.
Best wishes,
Beren
