A Decade of Growth: Celebrating 10 Years with Peter Knight and the Leaders Inc. Community..

There are certain milestones in business that make you stop, reflect and appreciate just how far you’ve come. This year marks one of those moments for me, ten years as a member of Leaders Inc., working alongside Peter Knight, his leadership team and an incredible network of estate agency business owners from across the UK.

When I first joined Leaders Inc. a decade ago, I was looking for more than just business advice. I wanted to challenge my thinking, learn from the very best in the industry and surround myself with people who genuinely wanted to see one another succeed.

Ten years later, I can confidently say it has been one of the best business decisions I’ve ever made.

Learning Never Stops

One of the greatest lessons I’ve learned over the past decade is that no matter how experienced you become, there is always something new to learn.

The property industry never stands still. Markets change, legislation evolves, consumer expectations rise and technology continues to transform the way we operate. Remaining successful means continually adapting, questioning and improving.

Through regular conferences, workshops, mastermind sessions and coaching, Leaders Inc. has consistently challenged me to think differently, not just about estate agency, but about leadership, culture, customer service, marketing and personal development.

The learning has never been theoretical. It’s practical, relevant and immediately applicable to our business at JP & Brimelow.

The Power of Non-Competitive Collaboration

One of the unique aspects of Leaders Inc. is its network.

The members aren’t competitors. Instead, they’re independent estate agency owners from different parts of the country who openly share ideas, successes, failures and experiences.

That openness creates something incredibly valuable.

Rather than protecting information, members actively help one another solve problems, improve systems and grow stronger businesses.

It’s refreshing to be part of a community where everyone wants each other to succeed.

Some of the best ideas we’ve implemented at JP & Brimelow have come directly from conversations over coffee, workshops or informal discussions with fellow members.

When business owners remove competition from the equation, genuine collaboration begins.

Leadership That Inspires

Peter Knight has built far more than a business network.

He has created a culture centred around continual improvement, accountability and generosity.

Alongside his leadership team, Peter has encouraged independent estate agents to raise standards across the industry while never losing sight of what matters most, the people.

Whether discussing customer experience, leadership, recruitment or marketing, the emphasis has always been on building sustainable businesses that clients and teams genuinely enjoy being part of.

That philosophy resonates strongly with everything we believe at JP & Brimelow.

More Than Mentoring

Every successful business owner benefits from having people who challenge them.

Over the last ten years, I’ve been fortunate to have mentors within Leaders Inc. who haven’t simply celebrated successes, they’ve asked difficult questions, challenged assumptions and encouraged me to think bigger.

Sometimes the greatest value doesn’t come from receiving answers.

It comes from being asked better questions.

Having experienced business owners around you who understand the challenges of running an estate agency has been invaluable.

Being able to discuss recruitment, profitability, leadership, succession planning and business strategy with people who have walked the same path provides reassurance that cannot easily be found elsewhere.

The Impact on JP & Brimelow

Over the past decade, JP & Brimelow has continued to evolve.

We’ve invested heavily in marketing, customer experience, technology, staff development and our company culture.

We’ve celebrated industry awards, expanded our services, strengthened our reputation across South Manchester and continued to innovate within an ever-changing property market.

While every achievement is the result of an incredible team effort, I have no doubt that the support, ideas and accountability provided through Leaders Inc. have played an important role in helping shape our journey.

The business is stronger today because we’ve never stopped learning.

My Reflections

Looking back over the past ten years, I feel incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have been part of Leaders Inc.

Running a business can often feel isolating. As owners, we’re expected to have the answers, make the decisions and lead from the front every day.

Being surrounded by experienced, like-minded business owners who openly share ideas, offer honest advice and genuinely want you to succeed has made a tremendous difference, not only to me personally, but to the growth of JP & Brimelow.

I’ve learned that leadership isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about staying curious, being willing to adapt, listening to others and continually investing in yourself and your team.

The mentors I’ve met through Leaders Inc. have challenged my thinking, celebrated our successes and supported me through the more difficult moments. They’ve encouraged me to step outside my comfort zone, make better decisions and focus on building a business that isn’t just commercially successful, but one that people genuinely enjoy being part of.

One of the greatest gifts has been being able to learn from fellow independent estate agents who aren’t competitors. There’s a unique honesty in those relationships. We openly share ideas, processes, mistakes and successes because we all recognise that raising standards across the industry benefits everyone.

That collaborative environment has had a lasting impact on me.

As I celebrate ten years with Leaders Inc., I’d like to thank Peter Knight, his leadership team and every member I’ve had the privilege of learning alongside. Looking forward to placing my brick award on my desk!

Here’s to continuing to learn, continuing to grow and continuing to challenge ourselves over the next decade.

After all, the day we believe we’ve learned everything is probably the day we stop improving.

Play with a smile and have fun doing what I love the most!

Eddie
