What’s On This Weekend at Whalley Range Cricket Club..
Cricket, tennis, great food and plenty of community spirit!
It’s another fantastic weekend ahead at Whalley Range Cricket & Lawn Tennis Club, and there’s plenty happening both on and off the pitch.
From junior cricket and first-team action to social tennis, food, drinks and a welcoming clubhouse atmosphere, it’s the perfect place to spend part of your weekend in the local community.
The club, which dates back to 1845, continues to be a fantastic hub for sport and community life in Whalley Range.
🏏 Friday – The weekend gets underway
The weekend kicks off with Under-13s cricket, as Whalley Range take on Stretford at home from 6pm.
There’s also plenty happening in the clubhouse, with Matt’s Little Kitchen open from 5pm, serving food, while the bar is open from 5pm.
A great way to start the weekend!
🏏 Saturday – First XI action at home
Saturday brings one of the big fixtures of the weekend as Whalley Range 1st XI take on Austerlands CC at home.
The match gets underway at 12:30pm, with the latest club fixture information confirming the First XI fixture as part of a busy Saturday schedule.
There’s also 2nd XI action away at Adlington CC, while the 3rd XI travel to face South West Manchester CC.
Back at the club, the bar opens from 1pm, followed by social tennis from 5pm–7pm.
So whether you’re there to support the cricket, enjoy a drink, get on court or simply catch up with friends, there’s plenty going on.
🏏 Sunday – More cricket and social tennis
Sunday continues the action with Whalley Range 5th XI taking on Failsworth Macedonia CC at home from 1:30pm.
The club is also hosting social tennis from 2pm–4pm, with the bar opening from 3pm.
It’s exactly what weekends at a great local sports club should be about sport, friends, food, drinks and community.
Something for everyone
There will be a wide range of sandwiches available throughout the weekend, alongside a meal deal featuring a sandwich, snack and drink.
And if you’re enjoying a drink at the club, a wine offer will also be available, so make sure you ask at the bar.
Supporting our local community
