Meet Our Local Business – Chorlton

Our Charity Shop in Chorlton is a hive of caring activity. We operate as a Charity Shop happy to take in all your donations. These help us in a couple of ways, we sell them to help fund our charity work supporting people experiencing homelessness and poverty in and around South Manchester or use any whichever items are required to help those we support.

This could be a rough sleeper or someone in a local hostel. A new set of clothes, or warm dry footwear can make a real difference.  We even take some of the books and DVD’s to our local hostels to offer residents some kind of entertainment should they choose to do so.

Our outreach team supports individuals to gain access to healthcare for their physical and mental health needs, referrals to drug services, support with the Criminal Justice System, welfare benefits as well as working with them on referrals into accommodation.

After an initial meeting the outreach team regularly visits the person at their sleep site establishing trust and a supportive relationship with giving the individual dignity, alongside the right level of support.

This in turn reduces homelessness and antisocial behaviour associated with homelessness and street begging in the community.

Engaging with those in need is essential, the more we can do to support them, The quicker they are likely to get their lives back on track.

How can you help?

Donate, donate ,donate!!

We regularly need to keep our food bank topped up and shop stocked up.

Volunteer:

come get involved with us in the shop, behind the scenes doing admin, picking up and dropping of parcels.

Fundraise – As a small independent charity your support goes directly to supporting local people in need, so next time you’re doing that 5K Marathon, sponsored silence, pub quiz or bake sale we would be honoured and hugely grateful if you chose us as your charitable cause.
