As part of our continued support for the club, we caught up with some of the players to learn a bit more about them on and off the pitch.

Getting to Know the Team and here is Parth.

Player Profile Questions

1. Name. Parth Gaikwad (Bowling All Rounder).

2. How long have you been playing cricket? I started playing cricket since I was 11 years old so 13 years of playing Cricket.

3. What got you into cricket? I developed interest in cricket at a very young age so it was my decision to join cricket and got a good support from my family.

4. Favourite position or role on the pitch? Leading the bowling attack and giving my team a good start.

5. Best moment in cricket so far? I was a net bowler for PSL which was held in Dubai and I got an opportunity to bowl some of the big cricketers like Shane Waston, Jofra Archer, etc which was my biggest moment of my cricketing journey.

6. Toughest opponent you’ve faced? I played a friendly match against New Zealand womens team when i represented UAE U16 development squad and that was the toughest opponent I ever played against.

7. Pre-match routine or superstition? I always pray to my god before playing the game.

8. Favourite professional cricketer and why? Rohit Sharma is my favourite cricketer because I have grown up watching him and develop as a player on television which gives me a lot of motivation.

9. What do you enjoy most about playing for this club? I love playing for Whalley Range CC, the environment is very friendly and each and every person is motivating each other and giving confidence to each other.

10. Goals for the upcoming season? My goal is to take more than 50 wickets and score more than 500 runs and get the team into a better position to stay up the table.
