Meet The Pie Guys..

The Pie Guys started pretty much by accident.

We’re two mates, Dan and Ryan. Dan owns his own bakery and Ryan works in marketing, and one day we decided to see what would happen if we put some of our favourite foods into a pie.

Naturally, this involved eating quite a few pies.

We started playing around with different flavours, including salt & pepper chicken, which is one of our favourites. After a few attempts, we sat there thinking, “These are actually unreal.” That was pretty much the moment we knew we might be onto something.

We’ve both grown up with pies being a proper treat and one of the best bits of good old-fashioned English comfort food. So The Pie Guys is our way of taking something we’ve always loved and giving it a proper Northern twist.

We’ve got everything from our Salt & Pepper Chicken Pie and The Dupe, packed with sausage, beans and cheese, to our Northern Classic. We’re always coming up with new ideas too, so there’s plenty more to come.

In fact, here’s a little spoiler while we’re here… Our Sunday Roast Pie, served in a Yorkshire pudding, is coming soon. We’ll let you decide whether that’s genius or absolute madness.

The food trailer is really just the start for us. We want The Pie Guys to be everywhere, from football grounds and festivals to markets and events across the North West and beyond.

We’ve particularly loved getting into the football side of things. We’ve just started our first season at West Didsbury & Chorlton AFC and it’s already been one of our favourite places to trade. We love football, we love pies and, let’s face it, who doesn’t want a pie, chips and gravy at the football?

It’s also very much been an all-hands-on-deck operation. It might have started with the two of us, but friends, girlfriends and family have all been dragged into it along the way. We’re not sure whether they volunteered or just got caught standing too close to the trailer.

We’re really proud of how far it’s come already, especially seeing the trailer out there, meeting customers and watching people come back for their favourite pies.

But we’re only just getting started.

We’ve got loads more pies to create, plenty more places we want to get to and hopefully a lot more people to convince that pretty much anything tastes better when you put it in a pie.
